2005-02-23 - Palm Desert, CA, USA: Lillian Vernon, a pioneer in the direct marketing and retailing industries has implemented Scene7's full-service eCatalog solution on its newly launched e-commerce website.
Lillian Vernon Corporation is a 54-year-old national catalog and online retailer that markets gift, houseware, children's, Christmas and fashion accessory products. The company is one of the largest specialty catalog marketers in the United States. Lillian Vernon Corporation publishes six catalog titles, among which is a Personalized Gifts catalog. It is one of the most well-known sellers of personalized products in the U.S. The company also sells its products in the business-to-business and outlet store markets.
"We wanted to provide our customers with an easy, intuitive way to shop our catalogs online," said Jonathan Shapiro, President of Lillian Vernon Corporation. "We chose Scene7's full service eCatalog solution for its project management expertise, world class hosting facilities, and unique automated production processes - which ensure that our eCatalogs are delivered on schedule and error free. This powerful combination made Scene7 an excellent choice to deliver our eCatalogs."
Scene7 provides a rich media platform to grow revenues and enhance visual communications via the web, email, displays and print, while automating media production and delivery. Scene7's integrated platform for production, management and delivery of rich media enables five key business solutions: Dynamic Imaging (dynamic zoom, sizing, art, color swatching, spin, templates), eCatalogs, Dynamic Customization, eVideos and Dynamic Asset Management.
Scene7's customizable eCatalogs enable Lillian Vernon's online customers to shop in a familiar, easy-to-use format - customers can flip pages, zoom in on product details, mark items with Scene7's "sticky notes" feature, and purchase items directly from the eCatalog.
After evaluating several other full-service online catalog offerings, Lillian Vernon sought out Scene7 based on a recommendation by Fry, Inc., a Scene7 partner who developed Lillian Vernon's e-commerce website. Scene7's 3 flexible deployment options - full-service, self-service ASP or in-house license - enable companies like Lillian Vernon to achieve the lowest cost of ownership. Lillian Vernon selected the plan that fit its immediate needs, while having the ability to evolve as its business requirements change. "We liked the flexibility that Scene7 offered," said Shapiro. "This gives us the ability to bring our eCatalog publishing in-house."
Three of Lillian Vernon's catalogs are currently viewable through the Scene7 application. A representative of Lillian Vernon informed this website that their personalized gifts catalog will soon be added to the system.
